BTS Pro 3G Davit vs. BTS Pro 6G Davit:

Explore our range of versatile davits for secure fall protection and rescue operations. Our lightweight, portable designs offer adjustable reach and height, ensuring safety in various work environments.

We currently offer both the BTS Pro 3G and BTS Pro 6G Davits and often get asked about the differences as both davit arms look very similar to the naked eye. See a quick comparison below.

  • Both the PRO-3 & the PRO-6 have the same reach.

  • The PRO-6 is 600mm higher than the PRO-3.

  • Ultimate Strength Rating: The PRO-3 rated to 12kN, and the PRO-6 rated to 15kN.

  • Both the PRO-3 & PRO-6: Working load limit of 136kg (including clothing, tools and equipment). All Davits are rated for limited free fall and must be used with an Inertia Reel with a maximum arrest force of 4kN or with Man/Material rated winch with a capacity of 136kg.

  • Sliding Mechanism differs on both product lines. The PRO-3 has a slider torque, and the PRO-6 comes with a positive locking pin.

  • Overload: The PRO-3 comes with a scratch plate which cannot be replaced once the unit has been overloaded. The PRO-6 comes with a fuse head which is replaceable and thus more economical for repairs work.

  • And lastly the PRO-6 is more of a robust davit, than the PRO-3.

What else do I need to complete the system?

Finally, you will need to choose a Mounting Bracket, Adaptor, Inertia Reel and any additional Hardware you may require. We often recommend the 15m Blockmax R1 Retractable Fall Arrester/Rescue Lifting Device as the reel is reasonably light and most important, the equipment can be serviced here in New Zealand and does not have to be send overseas like so many others.

However. We recommend giving us a call and have a chat to discuss which equipment will suit your individual application best.
